TAYLOR HOLLOW RICHINS RANCH Preserve

Protected in 2009

Acreage: 1205

Morgan and Summit County, UT

The Taylor Hollow Richins Ranch Preserve is an undeveloped, relatively natural area in a working sheep and cattle ranch. Two streams occur on the property located in the East Canyon Creek watershed. Dominant vegetation on the Taylor Hollow property consists of sagebrush steppe, Gambel oak woodlands, and aspen forests. Vegetation on the Property functions as food and shelter for birds and other wildlife including mule deer, elk, and mountain lions. Greater sage grouse have been documented in the area of the Preserve. Sage grouse habitat includes summer range with both sagebrush steppe and riparian areas. Sagebrush steppe provides nesting and foraging habitat for adult birds, including winter range; while riparian areas are particularly key to brood success.
