YOUR IMPORTANCE AS OUR MEMBERS
You, our members, make Utah Open Lands land-saving work possible. You have protected over tens of thousands of pristine acres of land and landscapes all over the state. From Moab to the headwaters of the Virgin River, from urban Salt Lake City to the High Uinta Range, Utah Open Lands has protected Utah treasures from development. You can become a member by making a donation — a donation translates directly into the satisfaction of knowing you are helping protect and steward lands. All donations are tax deductible.
As a donor you become a member. Donations to Utah Open Lands translate directly into the tangible satisfaction of protected lands and are tax deductible. Utah Open Lands depends entirely on private donations. Aside from your tax deductible donations, the most important contribution you as an individual can make is to be informed about the mission of Utah Open Lands, and get involved in educating your friends, family and neighbors about the benefit of maintaining the open lands in Utah. Even if Utah Open Lands had access to substantial funding, large scale preservation of Utah’s treasured landscapes would be impossible without support from our members, and the conscientious stewardship of land-owning families.
GRANTING A CONSERVATION EASEMENT
The hallmark of Utah Open Land’s innovative tools is the conservation easement. A conservation easement is a binding, legal agreement entered into mutually by a landowner and Utah Open Lands for the purpose of protecting the special features of a property by restricting development. Learn more
