Emigration Canyon Preserve

: 2000DSC00488_S_TrailEmigration Canyon Preserve, is just eight miles east of the burgeoning Wasatch Front, the Boyer Company donated this sizeable piece of open space to forever protect the watershed, wildlife habitat and scenic vista in Emigration Canyon. Accessible to the public for hiking and nature viewing of the Emigration Canyon’s splendors. Emigration Canyon has a heritage dating back to the Pioneers and is no less significant in the role it plays in the life of Utahns today. With the help of the Emigration Canyon community, Improvement District, Salt Lake County and the Boyer Company, Utah Open Lands successfully demonstrated the benefits of land preservation and stewards this acreage from encroaching development.

Our mission is to preserve and protect open space in order to maintain Utah’s natural heritage and quality of life for present and future generations. This is achieved by assisting private landowners, government agencies and communities in the voluntary preservation of the agricultural, scenic, recreational, historic and wildlife values of open land.
