Utah Open Lands and iNaturalist
A new way to explore the lands you love!
Utah Open Lands is opening up new opportunities for our members to explore the lands they love. Head over to our iNaturalist page and click on “Projects” to explore what we’re finding on our publicly accessible properties across Utah.
Want to get involved? Download the iNaturalist App from your App Store, create an account, and head out for a walk! Utah Open Lands protected properties like Hidden Hollow Nature Preserve in Salt Lake’s Sugarhouse neighborhood or Galena Soo’nkahni Preserve in Draper are great places to start. It’s as easy as taking a picture of what you find, looking up an ID, and posting it to the app. The data collected by YOU, our community scientists, can be used in research on our properties, and really matters!
Winter is upon us, and heading out with iNaturalist to a Utah Open Lands protected property is a great way to encourage friends and family to get outside and enjoy the beauty of our state. We’ll see you out there!
