Kate Ferguson’s love of wild places began while growing up with her dogs and horses roaming the woods and fields of Massachusetts. She moved to Utah in 1988 drawn by skiing and the lure of the west. She has worked as a Newborn ICU nurse, as a children’s bookseller, and has raised a puppy for Canine Companions for Independence. She is an aspiring children’s book writer and holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is passionate about keeping land open and wild for future generations, and she is honored to sit on the board of Utah Open Lands. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and three children.
