Mike joined the team in June of 2016 where he oversees the stewardship and monitoring of over 58,000 acres under permanent protection by Utah Open Lands.
He was most recently the Executive Director of the Androscoggin Land Trust in Maine and previously served as its Director of Land Protection and Stewardship from 2006 to 2014. Mike has also been self-employed as a consulting ecologist, and worked for The Nature Conservancy and the Maine Natural Areas Program. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources with a concentration in Ecology and Natural Resources from the University of Maine, Orono in 1995.
Through the national Land Trust Alliance, Mike has received further stewardship professional development. He is an accomplished botanist, and enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and just being outdoors. As a graduate of Boston University’s Genealogical Research program, Mike enjoys delving into his family roots. A recent transplant to Utah, Mike and his wife Christina live in Salt Lake City.
